Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistle Stop Café

This question neatly avoids making the mistake of suggesting that the Whistle Stop Café is mentioned in the title of the film. The 1987 novel on which the film was based was entitled Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistle Stop Café, but the film itself was just called Fried Green Tomatoes.

I haven't seen the film, but having consulted its Wikipedia page I can confirm that the Whistle Stop Café does feature. Wikipedia doesn't, however, mention actual tomatoes – red or green, raw, fried, or otherwise cooked.

On its page for the novel, Wikipedia tells us that the Whistle Stop Café "is loosely based on the Irondale Cafe in Irondale, Alabama, a suburb near [the Birmingham birthplace of author Fannie Flagg – real name Patricia Neal]. The cafe was bought by Flagg's aunt, Bess Fortenberry, in 1932 and run by herself and two friends for four decades. It is still in operation and, like the fictional cafe, is known for its fried green tomatoes."
